About the practice · Billerica, MA

You leave with the presence a new title cannot hand you.

Zephyrite is a small executive-coaching practice with a single focus: the newly promoted director or VP, and the delicate first stretch where reputation is quietly decided.

Why Zephyrite exists

The gap nobody prepares you for

Most leaders are promoted for what they did in their last role — then judged, almost overnight, on an entirely different set of instincts. The spreadsheet skills that earned the title rarely carry the room that comes with it.

Zephyrite began as a response to that gap. Not a seminar, not a stack of frameworks handed over at a conference, but a steady, confidential space to think out loud with someone who has watched hundreds of these transitions play out — and who cares more about your judgement than your job description.

We keep the practice deliberately narrow. One kind of client, a handful of engagements at a time, each priced by scope so the conversation never runs on a meter. Restraint, it turns out, is the whole point.

We do not make you louder. We make you certain — and the room hears the difference.

What we hold to

Four principles the practice is built on

These are not aspirations pinned to a wall. They are the terms every engagement actually runs by.

Confidential without exception

What surfaces in session stays in session — including the 360° that got us there. No summaries to your employer, no shared notes, no exceptions.

Anchored to real decisions

Every session attaches to something live on your desk this fortnight — a hire, a board update, a difficult one-on-one — never a theory practised in the abstract.

One coach, start to close

The same person hears every thread across your engagement. Nothing gets re-explained to a new face; the context compounds instead of resetting.

A fixed scope, agreed up front

Each engagement is priced whole, before we begin. You never watch a clock mid-thought or ration the honesty a conversation deserves.

Who this is for

A narrow practice, on purpose

Zephyrite is not a general leadership programme. It is built for one moment in a career — and we say no to the work that sits outside it.

  • Newly promoted directors & VPsTypically inside their first two years at a new altitude, learning to lead the people who were recently peers.
  • Leaders inheriting a new mandateA larger remit, an unfamiliar board, or a team assembled by someone else — and the composure that has to arrive faster than confidence does.
  • People who value discretion over noiseThose who would rather steady their judgement quietly than perform certainty they do not yet feel.

The person across the table

You work with one coach — the same two ears, every session

Zephyrite is intentionally small. There is no junior team fielding your first call and no rotating bench of associates. The person who reads your 360° is the person who sits with you a fortnight later, and the one who hands the frameworks back at the close.

That continuity is the point. Trust in this work is slow to build and quick to break, and it never survives being passed between people. So we keep the client list short enough that every engagement gets a full, undistracted mind.

The style is quiet and direct — more questions than pronouncements, and no tolerance for flattering you into comfort. You will leave sessions clearer, occasionally uncomfortable, and steadily more yourself in the chair you have just been given.
